# Authentication

{% hint style="warning" %}
Note that you'll only see this section if you have Owner user permissions. Learn more about permissions in [this article](/settings/tenant/users.md).
{% endhint %}

The default authentication method to access your Tenants in Onum is a combination of email + password. However, admin users can activate the following extra authentication methods:

* [Two-factor authentication](/settings/tenant/authentication/two-factor-authentication.md) - Add an extra layer of security by requiring users to provide additional verification beyond just their credentials.
* [Single Sign-On (SSO) with SAML](/settings/tenant/authentication/single-sign-on-sso-with-saml.md) - Simplify user authentication using SAML. Users will be redirected to their identity provider to verify their identity, without needing a separate username and password.
* [Single Sign-On (SSO) with OpenID](/settings/tenant/authentication/single-sign-on-sso-with-openid.md) - Simplify user authentication using OpenID Connect. Users will be redirected to their identity provider to verify their identity, without needing a separate username and password.
