Trim left string

Description

This operation removes unwanted characters from the beginning of a string. By default, it removes whitespace characters (such as spaces), but you can specify any characters to trim.

This operation is useful for cleaning up text by removing leading characters like spaces, punctuation, or custom symbols.

- The resulting strings after trimming the specified characters from the left side.

Parameters

These are the parameters you need to configure to use this operation (mandatory parameters are marked with a *):

Characters to trim

Enter a string containing the characters to remove from the left side of the input strings. If not provided, the operation trims only spaces by default.

Example

Suppose you want to trim your input strings by removing a series of characters from their left side:

1. In your Pipeline, open the required Action configuration and select the input Field.

2. In the Operation field, choose Trim string left.

3. Set Characters to trim to !. This will remove all exclamation marks from the left side.

4. Give your Output field a name and click Save. The input strings will be trimmed, removing all exclamation marks from the left side.

For example:

"!!!Hello, World!!!" -> "Hello, World!!!"
